Karl Lagerfeld Macys Collection

Fashion legend, Karl Lagerfeld teamed up with Macy's to create his capsule collection, and it is finally in stores today! I am absolutely in love with this collection and you can definitely see Chanel influences in almost every piece. With prices ranging from $50.00- $170.00 (a fraction of the cost of Chanel) it is an affordable way to get the classic elegance which is Karl Lagerfeld. My absolute favourite model Coco Rocha is also apart of the campaign, which I love!
A trip to the States is definitely in order!

Weekend Beading

We went to the cottage this weekend to relax, unwind and to celebrate our one year anniversary. We haven't been able to go up the last few weekends so it was really nice to get away. While I was up there I managed to find some time to do some beading and make some jewelry pieces tailored for the fall.
Below are the pieces that I made this weekend:
As you can probably tell I love skulls and bright vibrant colours. I am really loving burgundy and hunter green for the fall. I was also really excited to find rose gold beads so I could make a wrap bracelet to match all of my rose gold jewelry.

I also managed to do a little bit of shopping! I made my first fall purchase and got these shoes from Town Shoes. I love the colour and also the eclectic take on the classic loafer.

Shimmer and Sparkle

I finally convinced my boyfriend to take some pictures of my outfit, so I have decided to start posting my outfits - hopefully on a weekly basis. Below is an outfit I wore up at the cottage/ shopping today. I made a trip to the bead store, so I will be posting my new pieces by the end of the weekend!

Top: H&M, Shorts: Michael Kors, Shoes: Sam Edelman, Watch: Michael Kors
This Peacock wondered over while we were taking pictures and of course we had to get a few shots of it. We figured out that it was a female based on her colouring, so we named her Mary.

Cool Hunting: Mr.Kate

I absolutely LOVE Mr.Kate jewelry! If you haven't noticed I am a bit of a jewelry junky, and this collection is really hard to resist. I have loved rose gold for a long time so I am ecstatic that so many designers are incorporating it into their collections. I need to have the rose gold Mr.Kate logo rosary!

Design Inspiration

I have recently decided that I am going to purchase my own place this winter. This has lead me to contemplate how I will tackle the task of choosing decor colours and decorating it. Although it won't be built for atleast another year I have already been inspired and am starting to decide which direction I will go. I find my taste in interior design is in direct correlation with my sense of style.
I love the idea of dark walls with bright accents in pillows/ accessories. I also love the industrial look of this room.
I love using a bold colour or print on the walls to make a statement -especially in the powder room which is usually very dull and boring.
I love the idea of my kitchen cabinets being a colour that is not a exactly neutral, such as seafoam green.
I tend to go towards vintage looking pieces because I think it makes the space look interesting and unique. I also love the idea of pairing bold industrial looking pieces with delicate victorian inspired pieces or tribal/ethnic pieces.

Outside the Jewelry Box...

I love the idea of finding new ways to organize jewelry rather than just a simple jewelry box. Jewelry is a work of art so I love the idea of displaying it for people to see.
Below are a few ideas I have come across...

Wedding Style

I am super excited because tomorrow my good friend Katie is getting married! I have been looking forward to this day since we became good friends while working together last year. I know it is going to be absolutely beautiful. Below is the picture of my outfit that I plan on wearing to the reception. I purchased the dress from Holt Renfrew, which I splurged a little on. More pictures to come after the big day!

Tribal Inspiration

Tribal cardigans, shorts, skirts, dresses, wedges, jewelry and belts... I am completely obsessed with tribal and aztec prints this summer - by far my favourite trend!

After browsing through their website their Alphabet rings were definitely my favourite. I absolutely love how you can stack them and make something meaningful and uniqe to just you. The prices are great, ranging from $52.00 for the silver up to $88.00 for the gold. I am very tempted to go crazy and order a bunch of pieces but I must resist the urge!!

A Sweet Touch of Hope

When I saw this lovely collection of crystal and jewel enamelled Lollipop charms I fell in love. They are design by LL Cool J's wife and are avaialble at Simone I Smith.
This stylish lollipop charm will help raise funds and awareness to help save more lives from cancer. In 2004, Simone was diagnosed with stage III chondorosarcoma- a rare form of cancer. Her treatment required an invasive surgery that altered the appearance of her lollipop tattoo. "It literally looks like someone took a bite out of it,” says Simone. Inspired by her experience, the lollipop now represents Simone's journey to getting well and staying well. 10% of the purchase price will be contributed to the American Cancer Society.
Everyone go and support a good cause and invest in one of these adorable Lollipop charms - prices range from $100- $300.

Gypsy Love

Gypsy influences have definitely made their way into this summers fashion repertoire - headscarves, beaded bracelets, rustic bottles, silver coin jewellery, feet tattoos, capes, braids and anklets.
