I have decided that I am going to begin putting together a weekly outfit inspiration post. Each week I will post an outfit idea from my current wishlist or closet. This week I wanted to do an outfit for the fall like weather we have been experiencing here in Canada. I love the idea of layering on a bunch of cozy pieces in the fall.

I apologize I didn't post much this week, I had a pretty hectic week. However, I still found time to make a few new pieces of jewelry and do a bit of shopping. Don't you just love my new orange heels? I also learnt to knit and I am beginning to make my first scarf! I would absolutely love to be able to make my own chunky scarves and sweaters. This weekend I celebrated my friend Danielle's birthday. We went out for drinks and headed to a new club called the 'Hoxton' downtown Toronto.

I feel so out of the loop - I just found out that Topshop is opening at the department store The Bay in Canada! I am so unbelievably excited, and what is even more exciting is that the Toronto Queen Street location has already opened! The Yorkdale mall location is also opening October 5th. For those of you who aren't familiar with Topshop, it is clothing/accessory store based out of the UK which offers trendy affordable collections. Even though I have never been able to actually order anything off of their website I have still managed to go onto their website to browse and covet their pieces on almost a weekly basis. I am beyond excited that I can now own some of them!

I am still drooling over my latest purchase - my first pair of Gucci shoes! And the best part is that they were a steal! They were on sale for $149.00 at Holt Renfrew and I couldn't resist. I figure that I can still get some wear out of them in the winter if I pair them with black tights and a simple dress.

Cream Tunic - Zara; Leggings - Aritzia; Watch - Michael Kors, Belt - Marciano
This week has been pretty cold and rainy, but it has been nice to get a little taste of fall and to be able to wear some of the chunky knits I purchased for the fall. This weekend is supposed to be beautiful so I am hoping to head to my cottage to enjoy probably the last weekend of summer weather. I was also able to do some shopping this week and I am super excited because I got a steal on a pair of Gucci ballerina flats - I will definitely post a picture of them! What is everyone up to this weekend?

Festive baking - I recently baked these Pumpkin Spice cookies, which made me feel very Fall Festive!
Simple dresses with unique details - I recently purchased this dress from Zara and I love it's simplicity but the dropped back and gold buttons give it an edge.
Pleats and Colour blocking - One trend I love for the fall - I am obsessed with this skirt I recently purchased from French Connection.
Owl Accessories - My condo is filled with owl accessories, I even decorated my purple (yes purple) Christmas tree with owl decorations. My latest purchase are these owl book ends from chapters, which I am in love with!

This weekend I headed up to my cottage on Friday for the Labour Day long weekend. Since the weather was for the most part rainy and chilly, I was able to squeeze in some shopping and beading. It is sad to see the summer go so quickly, but I am also extremely excited for fall fashion - scarves, boots and knits are definitely my favourites!
Above is a gift my brother was thoughtful enough to bring back for me when he stopped at Mexico on a cruise. He knows how much I love skulls so he knew right away he had to buy one for my sister and I. I am in love with it and have decided to use it to keep some of my jewelry in.

A trend that I have been seeing a lot for fall are polka dot prints. What began with Marc Jacobs has quickly become an overarching theme on the runway this season. Appearing on feminine blouses, dresses, skirts, shoes and accessories, it is a trend that I will definitely partake in this fall.
