Home Sweet Home

After a lot of unpacking, breaking down boxes and washing dishes my new place is finally starting to come together. Below are a few pictures of my new place - although not complete you can get a pretty good idea of the style I am going for. I still need to get some pictures to hang on the walls and some furniture for the entrance foyer, which is looking unbelievably bare right now but I'm sure over the next couple of weeks I will be able to fill in those gaps.

Moving Woes

Image via Simply Hue

The last week I have had the joy of moving into my first house. Which has been very exciting, but as you can imagine there has been many exhausting days and late nights, but it finally seems like everything is starting to come together. I am a very organized person so when I first began planning my move I had everything organized down to a "T", but as many people warned me nothing has gone exactly to plan - wrong hardwood, damaged furniture deliveries, changed appointments etc. Thankfully even though practically nothing has gone as per plan, everything has seemed to work out in the end.
Pictures to come, back to painting for me!

How it feels to be a homeowner...

Yesterday I officially closed my first house, and I can't even express how excited I am to have my own place. I know it will be a lot of responsibility, but I'm sure it will be worth every second! Unfortunately I can't actually start moving in until next Tuesday but I'm sure moving day will be here before I know it. I can't wait to see how everything I have bought comes together - and prove to everyone that you can buy things before you move in and have it all go together!

Cottage Life

I am lucky enough for my parents to have a cottage that I can take advantage of whenever I want. With the beautiful weather this weekend I will definitely be taking advantage of it! I love being able to get away from the city and enjoy the sun by the lake. I know that cottaging can be kind of a Canadian kind of thing, but I'm sure some of you can relate!

Just in case there are some others that also have the ability to visit cottages or go away for the weekend in the summer I will be posting some of my favourite summer getaway looks!
